Five men have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Carlow last December.

On the evening of 5 December 2022 a number of shots were fired at a house in the Laurels Estate on Tullow Road.

A window was damaged but there were no reports of any injuries, and those responsible fled from the scene in a car.

This morning gardaí carried out a number of searches in counties Carlow, Wexford and Waterford.

Five men – of whom three are aged in their 20s, one in his 30s and another in his 50s - were subsequently arrested.

They are currently being detained at a number of garda stations in the southeast.
