It was a clean sweep for the Irish provinces in round five of the United Rugby Championship.

Ulster took care of business against the Lions at a rainy Kingspan Stadium, while Connacht edged out the Sharks in Durban.

Munster, meanwhile, won a rematch of last season's final, claiming a 10-3 win over the Stormers in Limerick as Leinster took a bonus point from their victory over the Scarlets in Dublin.

Here's our BKT URC team of the week.

15. Hugo Keenan (Leinster)

The Ireland full-back returned to action with another high-quality performance and showed no signs of any rustiness following his lay-off after the World Cup. In the space of two minutes, he made a try-saving tackle and then cut through the Scarlets defence to set up Garry Ringrose for the bonus-point try. Beat five defenders and was the official player of the match.

14. Shane Daly (Munster)

The Reds full-back is accommodated on the wing for his high-energy performance against last year's beaten finalists, Stormers, who were kept to a solitary penalty in their loss at Thomond Park. Made 82 metres and had two offloads to his name.

13. James Hume (Ulster)

Did exactly what was required on a tough night in Belfast when the ball was like a bar of soap. Made the half-break in the build-up and then ran a perfect support line to score Ulster’s first try. Beat four defenders and is working back towards the form that saw him feature in Ireland’s Six Nations campaign in 2022.

12. Jamie Osborne (Leinster)

The centre scored two and had a hand in five of Leinster’s six other tries. Heavily involved throughout, showing soft hands, hard running at good angles and made himself available with a strong boot in defence. Made two clean breaks and had nine successful carries. A candidate for man of the match.

11. Jimmy O'Brien (Leinster)

Always a danger in attack and eager to stretch his legs with plenty of possession that came his way. Broke the line a couple of times and finished his try, Leinster's second, superbly, stepping inside and then running away from the cover to score.

10. JJ Hanrahan (Connacht)

The out-half kicked a conversion and two penalties including the match-winning kick from distance as Connacht claimed a hard-fought victory in Durban against the Sharks. Showed incredible composure with the game in the balance. Was also Connacht’s top tackler on the day with 13.

9. Nathan Doak (Ulster)

The young scrum-half defied incredibly poor conditions in Belfast to keep Ulster in the game, constantly busy at the back of ruck and scrum, scrambling to get the ball out in the pouring rain. Kicked three conversions. Colm Reilly also did well in Connacht's victory.

1. Andrew Warwick (Ulster)

Battled in the spilling rain at the Kingspan and was always on hand at the breakdown and to carry when required. The Ballymena man was involved in the build-up to all three Ulster tries.

2. Tadgh McElroy (Connacht)

Part of a Connacht pack that held its own in hostile waters against the Sharks. The 26-year-old former Saracens and London Irish hooker also came up with a crucial penalty after the hosts had scored their first try. He got into the perfect position to jackal the ball and after Curwin Bosch missed his conversion attempt, it resulted in a five-point swing in a one-point game.

3. Finlay Bealham (Connacht)

A winning return to action for the tighthead prop after playing four games for Ireland at the World Cup. Big carry in the build-up to Connacht's only try of the game. Pictured in a protective boot after but precautionary, says the province.

4. Edwin Edogbo (Munster)

Another huge shift from the big second row, always seems to be on the move in attack and defence, a nuisance for the opposition. After being involved in the build-up, the 20-year-old Cork man finished off what turned out to be the winning score just before the break.

5. Oisin Dowling (Connacht)

Despite a yellow card, which came after repeated Connacht infringements close to the line, Dowling was one of the best Westerners on display. Worked well in tandem with Joe Joyce.

6. Dave Ewers (Ulster)

Strong performance from the back row as Dan McFarland’s men edged a real arm wrestle at the Kingspan. Solid in defence and on the ball in close contact. The Zimbabwe native was named man of the match in the 24-17 victory.

7. Max Deegan (Leinster)

Another excellent all-action showing from Deegan. A solid lineout option and clever on the ball. Scored two tries, his first, Leinster’s third, was a typical close-range effort, while he was still running with the clock in red. Played on the blindside and best of a Leinster back row that included Caelan Doris and Josh van der Flier.

8. Gavin Coombes (Munster)

The big number 8 battled well in the conditions and held on the ball well in contact time and time again. Top-tackler for Graham Rowntree’s side with 12 and twice held Evan Roos up when his opposite number was over the line.
