As Fair City's James gears up to start working again with his developer father Rafferty, it all falls apart on Thursday night on RTÉ One and the RTÉ Player.
Maxine confronts Rafferty about rehiring the arch manipulator, but he assures her that James' role on the site will be minimal.
"He makes one wrong move and I'll dump him back where he came from," asserts Rafferty.
Sure enough, in walks James at that very moment.
